About This Song
About "Xerxes, HWV 40: Act I: Largo" by James Galway
Handel's Largo unfurls like slow-moving honey, James Galway's flute tracing a serene, almost mournful line over stately strings. The famous aria from Xerxes becomes a meditation on stillness, its calm surface hiding a deep, quiet ache of resignation.
