About "Pavane, Op. 50" by James Galway
Fauré's Pavane moves with the stately grace of a courtly dance, Galway's flute gliding over muted strings. There's a gentle melancholy beneath the elegance, a sense of beauty passing by, never to return. It's a wistful, perfectly paced miniature of loss and poise.
