About This Song
About "Handel: Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne, HWV 74: VI. Duet and Chorus. "Let rolling streams their gladness show"" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Rolling streams of counterpoint cascade through this duet and chorus. Handel paints water with florid lines, the voices rippling like light on the Cam. The mood is glad but restrained—a courtly river, not a wild torrent, flowing toward a majestic cadence.
