About This Song
About "Handel: Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne, HWV 74: XI. Chorus. "The day that gave great Anna birth"" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Handel repeats the birthday chorus, now a final, blazing affirmation. The King's College Choir invests each phrase with cumulative weight, the music turning from celebration to ritual. Beneath the repeats, a subtle unease: the day must be praised, again and again, lest silence fall.
