About This Song
About "Chopin: Waltz No. 9 in A-Flat Major, Op. 69 No. 1 "Farewell"" by Alice Sara Ott
Subtitled 'Farewell,' this A-flat waltz moves like a letter read and reread. Ott lets the melody linger in the air, each phrase a gentle closing of a door. The sadness is not dramatic but cumulative—a quiet, graceful letting go that leaves the room emptier.
