About This Song
About "Debussy: La plus que lente, CD 128" by Alexis Weissenberg
Weissenberg teases Debussy's waltz into a languid, almost ironic sigh. The title promises slowness, but the pianist's rubato feels like a held breath—delicate phrasing that wavers between salon charm and a quiet, unsettled melancholy, as if the dance is dissolving mid-step.
