About "The Ancient Rebels" by Alternative TV
A title like 'The Ancient Rebels' evokes crumbling statues and torchlit uprisings, but Alternative TV's post-punk wiriness keeps the rebellion wiry and urgent. Guitars scrape against a restless rhythm, turning nostalgia into a nervous twitch. The tension is between heritage and rupture—calm heritage, uneasy present.
