About "Gnossiennes : Satie: Gnossiennes: No. 1, Lent (Upright Version)" by Bruce Liu
The upright No. 1 opens Satie's Gnossiennes with a lent, almost hesitant breath. Liu's piano is close-miked and unadorned, each note a small object placed on a table. The calm is meticulous; the unease is the sense that the table might tip, ever so slightly, at any moment.
