About "Gnossiennes : Satie: Gnossiennes: No. 5, Modéré" by Bruce Liu
Satie's Fifth Gnossienne moves 'modéré'—a slow procession through an empty carnival. Liu lets the melody hang like faded bunting, its harmonic gaps suggesting a smile that doesn't quite reach the eyes. The calm is deliberate; the unease is in what's withheld, a door left ajar in a warm house.
