About This Song
About "On a déjà donné" by Mort Shuman
A weary shuffle through the rubble of repeated mistakes. Shuman's rasp narrates a cycle of giving and losing with gallows humor, the melody swaying between resignation and defiance. It's the sound of a man who knows the score but keeps playing anyway.
