About "Main Title" by Pino Donaggio
Pino Donaggio's 'Main Title' for Carrie is a study in creeping dread. Celestial strings and a lullaby-like melody are slowly poisoned by dissonance, mirroring the film's innocent-turned-nightmare arc. The tension between sweetness and horror is palpable, a masterful overture to tragedy.
