About This Song
About "The Ballot / Carrie and Tommy / The Conspirators" by Pino Donaggio
A three-part descent: the ballot's hopeful flutter, Carrie and Tommy's tender waltz, then conspirators' snickering strings. Donaggio twists romance into a trap, the prom's glitter masking a knife.
