About "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" by Brian Houston
Houston tackles Eric Bogle's anti-war masterpiece with devastating restraint. 'And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda' unfolds slowly, each verse a fresh wound. The famous chorus becomes a ghostly refrain, and Houston's quiet delivery lets the horror of Gallipoli echo without a single raised voice.
