About "Black Velvet Band" by Brian Houston
'Black Velvet Band' is a cautionary tale told with a sly grin. Houston's version swings with a pub-rock energy, the story of a doomed lad and a treacherous beauty delivered with infectious rhythm. The tension between the jaunty tune and the grim fate is deliciously wicked.
