About "Karelia Suite, Op. 11 : Sibelius: Karelia Suite, Op. 11: 1. Intermezzo (Moderato)" by Berliner Philharmoniker
Sibelius's Karelia Intermezzo opens like a cold northern road—horns calling across a frozen plain, strings gathering into a restrained, marching pulse. Karajan keeps the moderato taut and unsentimental, evoking a landscape both majestic and indifferent, where grandeur and isolation share the same breath.
