About "Coriolan, Op. 62 : Beethoven: Coriolan, Op. 62: Coriolan Overture, Op. 62 (Recorded 1966)" by Berliner Philharmoniker
Karajan drives Beethoven's Coriolan Overture with tense, architectural force, strings coiled like a drawn bow. The 1966 Berlin recording captures a general's pride collapsing into silence—martial rhythms giving way to a wounded, hollowed-out hush. Grandeur and ruin held in perfect, unbearable balance.
