About "The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a : Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a: IIb. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" by Berliner Philharmoniker
Tchaikovsky's Sugar Plum Fairy tiptoes on celesta ice, the Philharmoniker conjuring a kingdom of spun sugar and shadow. The tension is between sweetness and strangeness: each crystalline note a tiny, perfect threat, as if the dance were a lullaby sung by something not quite human, beautiful and faintly unsettling.
