About This Song
About "Koko (Live At The Royal Roost / 1948)" by Charlie Parker
'Koko' live in 1948 is a frantic, breathtaking sprint, Parker's saxophone spitting out notes like sparks from a grinding wheel. The Royal Roost crowd seems to hold its breath; the rhythm section chases rather than follows, and the whole thing threatens to derail but never does.
