About This Song
About "I Puritani / Act 1 : Bellini: I Puritani / Act 1: Oh! vieni al tempio" by Beverly Sills
Bellini's 'Oh! vieni al tempio' is a bridal invitation that trembles with foreboding. Sills spins the cantilena with pearlescent purity, each phrase a step toward an altar shadowed by doubt. The melody's gentle rise and fall feels like a heartbeat quickeningâdevotion and dread in equal measure.
