About This Song
About "Children's Corner, CD 119 : Debussy: Children's Corner, CD 119: V. The Little Shepherd" by Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli
Debussy’s little shepherd pipes on a toy flute, but Michelangeli gives the tune a wistful weight, as if the pasture is a memory already fading. The calm is pastoral, yet a minor shadow suggests the shepherd knows the flock will scatter.
