About "Thriving On a Riff 3" by Charlie Parker
The final take of 'Thriving On a Riff' captures the quintet at their most relaxed and most dangerous. The riff becomes a mantra, repeated with increasing intensity until it feels like a heartbeat. There's a calm surface here, but underneath, a restless, searching spirit.
