About This Song
About "Koko" by Charlie Parker
A breakneck tour de force, 'Ko-Ko' is bebop's declaration of independence. Parker's alto spits out phrases like sparks from a live wire, the rhythm section a blur of motion. The tune's sheer velocity feels both exhilarating and terrifying, a chase with no finish line.
