About This Song
About "Alligator Stomp" by Tony Joe White
A gritty, backwoods funk strut, 'Alligator Stomp' finds Tony Joe White conjuring a bayou dance floor of mud and moss. The riff lurches like a reptile's tail, all sinewy groove and sly humor—less a party than a ritual where the swamp itself seems to be keeping time.
