About This Song
About "Underdog" by Tony Joe White
White champions the underdog with a slow-burn defiance, his voice a low flame against a backdrop of swampy, patient rhythm. The song doesn't rage; it simmers, each verse a small victory of endurance, the guitar offering a gritty, unpolished hope that feels hard-won and real.
