About "What Sweeter Music" by Cambridge Singers
'What Sweeter Music' is Rutter at his most disarmingly lyrical—a carol that wraps the listener in warm, consonant glow. Yet the choir's impeccable phrasing keeps sentiment from spilling into nostalgia. The tension is gentle: sweetness held in check by architectural poise, a gift offered without excess.
