About "Away in a Manger (Arr. J. Rutter)" by Cambridge Singers
Rutter's arrangement of 'Away in a Manger' is a lullaby of deceptive simplicity—the choir's blended tone rocks gently, yet a subtle harmonic ache lurks beneath. It's the calm of the manger shot through with the unease of a world unaware. Tender, yes, but never saccharine.
