About "All-night Vigil, Op. 37 "Vespers": No. 6, Ave Maria" by Cambridge Singers
Rachmaninoff’s ‘Ave Maria’ from the All-Night Vigil unfolds like incense smoke—slow, dark, and luminous. The Cambridge Singers sustain a hushed intensity, basses anchoring a prayer that feels both ancient and urgently present. The title’s angelic greeting becomes a whisper in the dark, tension between stillness and a trembling, barely contained devotion.
