About "Alma Redemptoris Mater" by Cambridge Singers
‘Alma Redemptoris Mater’ is a medieval prayer set in austere, floating polyphony. The Cambridge Singers render it with glassy purity, each interval a step in a slow procession. The music feels both timeless and fragile, like a candle carried through a drafty cloister—devotion held against the dark, a mother’s name whispered into the void.
