About "A Hymn to the Mother of God" by Cambridge Singers
Tavener’s ‘A Hymn to the Mother of God’ is a sonic icon: static, incantatory, and glowing from within. The Cambridge Singers divide into shimmering choral layers, the melody circling like a candle flame in a draft. It’s music of radical stillness, where devotion becomes a kind of beautiful unease—time suspended, the earthly ear straining toward the eternal.
