About "Monteverdi: Vespro della Beata Vergine, SV 206: XII. Ave maris stella" by Christina Pluhar
Monteverdi’s Ave maris stella rises like incense in Pluhar’s hands, its polyphony a star-lit sea of devotion. The hymn’s majesty is tempered by an intimate, almost fragile tenderness—a prayer whispered in a vast, echoing nave.
