About "When He's Dead" by Carter Burwell
From In Bruges, 'When He's Dead' is Burwell at his most slyly ominous—a slow, almost lullaby-like figure that curdles into unease. The title's bluntness sits against the music's politeness, a tension between courteous calm and the cold arithmetic of revenge.
