About "6 Variations in F Major, Op. 34 : Beethoven: 6 Variations in F Major, Op. 34: Var. 4. Tempo di menuetto" by Alfred Brendel
Tempo di menuetto: a minuet that remembers its courtly manners but forgets its composure. Brendel shapes the fourth variation with elegant hesitation, the rhythm swaying between decorum and a private, almost ironic smile.
