About "6 Kinderstücke Op. 72 : Mendelssohn: 6 Kinderstücke Op. 72: III. Allegretto, MWV U 164" by Daniel Barenboim
Allegretto skips with the awkward grace of a child learning to dance. Barenboim keeps the rhythm light, almost teasing, as if the piano itself is smiling. Yet the repeated motifs hint at obsession—a nursery tune that circles until it becomes a ghost.
