About This Song
About "Lieder ohne Worte VIII, Op. 102 : Mendelssohn: Lieder ohne Worte VIII, Op. 102: IV. Andante un poco agitato, MWV U152 "The Sighing Wind"" by Daniel Barenboim
'The Sighing Wind'—the title says it all. Andante un poco agitato, and Barenboim makes the piano breathe: phrases rise and fall like gusts through a cracked window. The unease is palpable, a gentle turbulence that never resolves, leaving the listener unsettled and strangely moved.
