About This Song
About "Lieder ohne Worte VII, Op. 85 : Mendelssohn: Lieder ohne Worte VII, Op. 85: III. Presto, MWV U111" by Daniel Barenboim
Presto here is not mere speed but a shimmering chase: Mendelssohn's notes dart like minnows under ice. Barenboim keeps the texture light, almost breathless, yet every phrase lands with crisp intention. It's joy with a shadow of unease, a dance that knows the floor might give way.
