About This Song
About "Lieder ohne Worte VII, Op. 85 : Mendelssohn: Lieder ohne Worte VII, Op. 85: VI. Allegretto con moto, MWV U155" by Daniel Barenboim
Allegretto con moto: motion with a purpose, but no rush. Barenboim teases out the music's inner counterpoint, letting voices entwine like climbing vines. The mood is buoyant yet tinged with wistfulness, as if the tune is remembering a dance it once knew. A study in poised, affectionate unease.
