About This Song
About "Lieder ohne Worte VII, Op. 85 : Mendelssohn: Lieder ohne Worte VII, Op. 85: V. Allegretto, MWV U191" by Daniel Barenboim
A gentle Allegretto that feels like sunlight through a half-open shutter. Barenboim's phrasing is intimate, almost conversational, the melody wandering without hurry. Yet beneath the ease, a faint restlessness hums—a reminder that Mendelssohn's 'songs' are never merely pretty, always quietly searching.
