About This Song
About "Lieder ohne Worte VI, Op. 67 : Mendelssohn: Lieder ohne Worte VI, Op. 67: II. Allegro leggiero, MWV U145 "Lost Illusions"" by Daniel Barenboim
Barenboim teases out Mendelssohn's 'Lost Illusions' with a feather-light touch, each note a ghost of a forgotten waltz. The allegro leggiero flickers between wistful grace and a shadow of regret, like sunlight through a dusty window—bright, but tinged with what's gone.
