About This Song
About "Lieder ohne Worte IV, Op. 53 : Mendelssohn: Lieder ohne Worte IV, Op. 53: II. Allegro non troppo, MWV U109 "The Fleecy Cloud"" by Daniel Barenboim
'The Fleecy Cloud' drifts on an Allegro non troppo that feels airborne. Barenboim's touch is light, almost weightless, each phrase a cumulus shape shifting in a summer sky. But listen closely: the underlying pulse is steady, a reminder that even fleece is bound by gravity.
