About This Song
About "Bird's Nest" by Charlie Parker
A bird's nest of tangled, darting lines: Parker's alto flutters and dives, building a home from pure improvisation. The quintet's swing is buoyant but restless, each chorus a twig added to a fragile structure. There's joy here, but also the nervous energy of something about to take flight.
