About This Song
About "The Seasons, Op. 37b, TH 135: VII. July. Song of the Reaper" by Barry Douglas
July arrives with a reaper's song, and Douglas lets the piano scythe through stillness. The melody cuts a clean, rhythmic arc while harmonic shadows gather at the edges—a harvest dance that feels both communal and solitary. Beneath the folk-like lilt, a quiet foreboding rustles in the wheat.
