About This Song
About "Messiah, HWV 56 / Pt. 1 : Handel: Messiah, HWV 56 / Pt. 1: 8. "Behold, a virgin shall conceive"" by Anne Sofie Von Otter
A hushed annunciation: Handel’s recitative becomes a candlelit whisper, von Otter’s mezzo floating over sparse strings. The calm is deceptive—beneath the Baroque restraint trembles a prophetic unease, as if a virgin’s secret might shatter the silence.
