About This Song
About "Messiah, HWV 56 / Pt. 1 : Handel: Messiah, HWV 56 / Pt. 1: IX. "O Thou That Tellest Good Tidings to Zion"" by Anne Sofie Von Otter
A radiant command to Zion: Handel’s aria, stripped to chamber intimacy, lets von Otter’s mezzo glow with measured joy. The strings pulse like distant footsteps, balancing serene assurance against the faint tremor of tidings too great to bear.
