About This Song
About "Beatus Vir (Psalm 111), R.597 : Vivaldi: Beatus Vir (Psalm 111), R.597: 4. Andante molto: Exortum est" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Vivaldi's psalm setting unfolds with a solemn, processional beauty. The choir's 'Exortum est' rises like candlelight in a stone chapel, its Andante molto pacing evoking a slow, reverent dawn. The tension lies in the contrast between the text's praise and the music's quiet, almost mournful restraint—a sacred calm shadowed by human frailty.
