About This Song
About "Messiah, HWV 56 / Pt. 1 : Handel: Messiah, HWV 56 / Pt. 1: 17a. "Then shall the eyes of the blind"" by Anne Sofie Von Otter
Blind eyes shall see—Handel’s recitative, rendered with chamber intimacy, becomes a quiet epiphany. Von Otter’s voice is a lamp in shadow, the strings a trembling threshold. Calm certainty battles the unease of revelation.
