About "The Nutcracker (Suite), Op. 71a, TH 35 : Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker (Suite), Op. 71a, TH 35: IIc. Russian Dance (Trepak)" by Boston Pops Orchestra
Trepak kicks like a boot through ice. The Pops attack Tchaikovsky's Russian Dance with furious energy, strings and woodwinds tumbling over each other. It's joy at breakneck speed, a whirlwind that barely contains its own wildness—exhilaration edged with the threat of collapse.
