About "Fauré: Pavane, Op. 50 (Choral Version)" by Choeur De L'Orchestre Symphonique De Montréal
Fauré's Pavane, stripped of its orchestral velvet and clothed in choral breath. The Montreal choir turns the famous melody into a slow procession of sighs—each phrase a step toward melancholy, yet the recurring theme offers a strange, consoling beauty, like rain on a grave.
