About "La finta semplice, K. 51, Act II : Mozart: La finta semplice, K. 51, Act II: No. 13, Aria. Con certe persone vuol esser bastone" by Andreas Schmidt
Act II's aria turns the screw of Mozart's farce—'with certain people you must be a stick,' a threat wrapped in elegance. Schmidt voices the calculation with velvet menace, the melody poised while the meaning sharpens. Charm and coercion share the same breath, and the tension never quite resolves.
