About "La finta semplice, K. 51, Act II : Mozart: La finta semplice, K. 51, Act II: No. 18, Aria. Ho sentito a dir da tutte" by Barbara Hendricks
An aria built on hearsay and gossip, its melody skipping like a stone across a pond. The singer's coloratura becomes a flurry of whispers, and the orchestral accompaniment twinkles with ironic innocence—a portrait of someone who trusts rumor over truth, delivered with Mozart's signature blend of wit and tenderness.
