About This Song
About "Symphony No. 9 : Mahler: Symphony No. 9: III. Rondo-Burleske. Allegro assai. Sehr trotzig" by Chicago Symphony Orchestra
A whirlwind of defiance, the Rondo-Burleske erupts with sarcastic energy. The Chicago Symphony's brass snarls and strings skitter, Boulez driving the music's 'sehr trotzig' spirit into a feverish, almost manic frenzy. It's a grotesque carnival, brilliant and biting, where Mahler's rage turns into a dizzying, darkly comic dance.
